Air Cooled Heat Exchanger for Petrochemical Industry

A finned tube heat exchanger is one of the earliest and most successful discoveries in the processĀ of improving tube heat exchange. This method is still the most widely used in all kinds of heat transfer enhancement methods of tubular heat exchange surfaces. It is not only suitable for single fin and tube heat exchangers but also widely used in power, chemical industry, petrochemical industry, air conditioning engineering, and refrigeration engineering.

Air coolers can be divided into the following forms due to their different structures, installation forms, cooling and ventilation modes.

  1. According to the different arrangements and installation forms of tube bundles, they are divided into horizontal air coolers and inclined top air coolers. The former is suitable for cooling, while the latter is suitable for various condensing cooling.
  2. According to different cooling methods, it is divided into dry air cooler and wet air cooler. The former relies on a continuous air supply by a fan for cooling; The latter is enhanced by water spray or atomization. The latter has higher cooling efficiency than the former, but it is not widely used because it is easy to cause corrosion of tube bundle and affect the service life of air cooler.
  3. According to different ventilation modes, it is divided into forced ventilation (i.e. air supply) air cooler and induced ventilation air cooler.
