Welded Plate Type Air Pre-heater

The preheater is a heating surface that preheats the air before entering the boiler to a certain temperature by using the flue gas in the boiler tail flue through the internal radiator. Used to improve boiler heat exchange performance and reduce energy consumption.

An air preheater is a device designed to recover waste heat from the exhaust gas to preheat the air for the next process, usually as combustion air to burn in the furnace.

Welded plate air preheater takes welded plate bundle as heat transfer element. Every two plates are welded together along the seams by automatic laser welding machine to form a plate pair. Each plate pair is then welded onto the four columns to form a plate bundle, which is the core heat transfer body of the full set of air preheater heat transfer.
The wide space channel is particularly suitable for tough flue gas containing solid and viscous particles.

Plate material can be either carbon steel or stainless steel, but very importantly the process temperature should be above 130 ℃ to avoid dew point corrosion. When the temperature is lower than this, the tubular type will be another option to solve the problem of corrosion.

A variety of stainless steel can be selected for the plate, like304, 316, 316L, 2205, 254 SMO, depending on the working temperature and composition of the flue gas.

Plate type air preheater has below advantages over tubular type:

  • High heat transfer efficiency
  • Compact structure, less installation space
  • Easy assembly on site
  • Easy maintenance
  • Long service life and low operation cost

Application field for plate air preheater:

Petrochemical, metallurgy, coal chemical, paint factory, waste incineration etc. We have wide experience in designing and manufacturing air preheaters for both national and international customers
